Rowe Announces State Grants for 85th District Schools

HARRISBURG – Rep. David H. Rowe (R-Snyder/Union/Mifflin/Juniata) today announced the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) approved grants to bolster school safety. Several public schools that serve students in 85th District could benefit from the grants.
“Protecting student safety is essential to delivering a high quality education that supports academic success,” Rowe said. “I’m encouraged to see these funds invested in students across both traditional and career and technical schools, ensuring our future leaders gain the tools, confidence, and opportunities they need to thrive in the years ahead.”
The following grants are available to public schools, contingent upon filing an application for the funds:
• Mifflin County Academy of Science and Technology, $70,000.
• Mifflin County School District, $298,896.
• Mifflinburg Area School District, $175,713.
• Midd-West School District, $184,601.
• Selinsgrove Area School District, $200,894.
• SUN Area Technical Institute, $70,000.
• Juniata County School District, $199,735.
• Lewisburg Area School District, $177,689.
The funding from this grant program may be used to help address school violence and improve school security, including costs associated with the training and compensation of security personnel.
